The Cairns West Medical Centre is a small General Practice, with one full and one part time General Practitioners, and two part time Registered Nurses. The purpose of this website is not only to assist our patients and provide medical news, but also to provide support for small general practices.

Mission Statement:

At the Cairns West Medical Centre we aim to provide high quality medical care for our patients in a setting where people feel comfortable and relaxed. We are not a large practice and this allows us to provide personal care with continuity for both families and individuals, and to liaise with health professionals in our surrounding area.

Appointments:

Please phone: 07 4053 3399 during office hours (see Information Page above) for all appointments. We will attempt to cater for your convenience when arranging appointment times, but please note that in general, routine appointment slots are often filled one to two weeks in advance. However, emergency appointments are available if a suitable time can be arranged, and every effort will be made to allocate times according to the urgency.

Chest pain, asthma, shortness of breath, bleeding and obstetric problems will all be seen immediately – please notify the staff on arrival. However, the Ambulance should be called (through Emergency 000) for immediate transfer to Cairns Base Hospital if a heart attack, stroke or other emergency is suspected to prevent any delays in seeking treatment.

Counselling appointments may be arranged for extended consultation time and are available in the afternoon sessions only. It is preferable to book well in advance for ongoing counselling.

Cairns West Medical Centre is located at Shop 6, 114 Hoare St, Manunda,  Qld, 4870 around the corner from the Brothers Leagues Club and entered via Cominos Place, near the shops at the English and Hoare Street intersection . Please see map below.
